My name is Ben Makuh. I'm an introspective pastor-turned-software engineer. I have an MA in biblical and theological studies from Denver Seminary, and whether I'm writing code, blog posts, or books, I write out of a desire to make things better for the people around me. Here on my blog, I review a lot of books for various publishers interspersed with some of my own musings. I'm currently writing my first book about how and why I changed my mind about gender roles in the home, the church, and the world.

Text is my life, and so at work I focus on building delightful, collaborative text editing applications. I am currently a technical leader at Miro, but I have a breadth of technical and leadership experience in startups ranging from tools for qualitative research, health tech, real estate tech, desktop design, and infinite canvases. Whatever I'm doing, my aim is to make tools for humans to enable more effective, satisfying work.
